New Year's Traditions

Updated: Oct 5, 2021

New Year's Day is filled with laughter and traditions in our family. Most of these traditions were past down through my family and I'm now doing them with my kids. We always take down all of our Christmas decorations and get the house tidied up on New Year's Day: I am from Pennsylvania, born and raised, so pork and sauerkraut is a traditional PA Dutch New Year's Day Tradition. I also always make Collard Greens. I always try a few new recipes on New Year's Day too. This year our new recipes were Instant Pot Hoppin' John and Greek New Year's Lucky Cake (Vaselopita). Kid 1, the 16 year old boy found the luck in the cake this year.

Traditions that I do for myself that don't involve my family are important to me also. I always start with an at home spa night once a week on January 1st every year. This year my spa nights will be on Friday. During This time I take essential oil and epsom salt baths, I do a face mask and a foot mask. Today I chose to do this DERMAL brand Red Ginseng Collagen Essence Sheet Mask. It might not be my prettiest picture, but it is the true me. For the future weeks I am researching homemade beauty and spa treatments that I can try out and share with you guys.

I hope you all have a fabulous New year. If you have any special family or personal traditions leave me a comment below. And if you like what you're seeing here, think about subscribing to my page.
