Sheet Pan Italian Sausage Heros with Honey Mustard

Juicy Italian sausage and peppers are roasted together on a sheet pan - yay for easy clean up - and stuffed into classic haogie rolls for an Italian Sausage Sandwich that's delicious anytime of day. I always double this recipe so that my family of 5 can each get 2 heros.

PREP TIME: 15 minutes

COOK TIME: 30 minutes

TOTAL TIME: 45 minutes

SERVINGS: 5 sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:

-1 (20 ounce) package Mild or Spicy Italian Sausage Links (turkey, chicken or pork) normally contains 5 sausages

-1 Green Bell Pepper, cored, 3/4" slices

-1 Red Bell Pepper, cored, 3/4" slices

-1 onion, 3/4" slices

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

5 Hoagie Rolls, toasted

HONEY MUSTARD SAUCE:

1/3 cup Mayonnaise

1 tablespoon Whole Grain Mustard

1 tablespoon Honey

1 teaspoon Soy Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Place the bell peppers and onions on a rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, toss to coat.

3. Nestle the sausages between the veggies and roast for 30 minutes.

4. In a small bowl mix the mayonnaise, whole grain mustard, honey and soy sauce.

5. Remove the sausage and veggies from the oven and toss with the sauce or drizzle on top once in the hoagie rolls.

6. Serve sausage and veggies on toasted hoagie rolls smothered in the sauce.
